Day 21 Back to CDT

We camped in this canyon last night

Today was 21 miles of dirt road walking as the Gila Alternate winds its way back to rejoin the official CDT.  It was very pretty with big views that go for miles, but mostly I just listened to music and cruised.  Even though these are easy miles on flat dirt roads I managed to end up with several new blisters. I think the monotonous walking without many breaks just continually wears on the same hot spots.

Last night got below freezing and I got cold and had to put on my jacket.  Tonight is probably going to be even worse since we are at 8000 feet.  I’m already shivering and it isn’t even dark yet. I didn’t take my blood pressure meds this morning and no dizzies!

Pat in front
Eeyore bringing up the rear (his old trail name was Tail Gunner because he always wants to be in the back)

Eeyore is still with us.  He is a friendly guy and nice to have around.  I will miss him when we separate in a couple days.
