Day 141 Rawlins Slackpack

I had the Econolodge breakfast with Gaucho and said goodbye to my friend.  He was heading out for Encampment today, but I have to hike the highway back 14 miles to cover the section that I hitched yesterday.  I left most of my gear at the front desk and got started a little after 8:00.  I hiked north back to the Mineral X road where I got the ride into town yesterday. This completed my continuous footsteps all the way to Rawlins. Now all I had to do is hitch back to Rawlins (for the second time).

When I got to the Mineral X road there was a girl (forgot her name) who was just coming out of the desert and also wanted to slackpack to Rawlins. We talked for about 10 minutes before a nice Native American couple in a mini van picked us up and drove us all the way back to the Econolodge.  I made it back by 2:00, collected my stuff and went across the street to the Comfort Inn where I had reservations for the night.
