I booked it the last 9 miles along a wide gravel road with awesome views of the Tetons in the distance. I reached Sawtelle Resort at 10:30 or so, only to be told that my room wouldn’t be ready until 4:00.  Thru hiker tip – when this happens just hang out in the lobby. Between my ratty looks and various trail smells they usually manage to get my room ready earlier than expected. 🙂

I ate breakfast at the hotel, then did laundry at the pool and took a shower there as well.  I then had lunch at Connie’s with Wingo, a nice 72 year old that does 25 miles per day.  Amazing.  I went back to the hotel, retrieved my packages, and while opening them in the lobby my room became ready.  It was awesome! 

Mav and Gaucho had a really nice spot in the campground right behind my building, so I visited with them and then had an appetizer dinner with Mav at Connie’s.
