Day 111 Zero in Lima.

I was all set this morning to camp in the park under the gazebo.  I was returning the key to the front when I passed the owner (Mike) who told me that a room had opened up.  I went to the office and asked for the room.  The lady asked if I wanted the same POS room I stayed in last night and I immediately answered NO!  She gave me room 15 which was awesome.

I hung out at the park with Mav and Gaucho under the gazebo while they cleaned my room.  Mav was still waiting for a part to his tent that he ordered overnight from Big Agnes.  We talked politics and whatever until the afternoon thunderstorms started up at which point I left to go back to my room.

On the way I encountered Legs, a dark skinned dude with long black hair. Legs is a plumber from San Diego.  He was sheltering under a tree from the rain waiting for the 5:00 shuttle back to the trail – but it was only like 1:00 or so.  I felt bad for him and told him if it gets bad he could hang out in my room.  He said thanks but he thought he was ok.

A half hour later it was pouring outside.  Lightening, thunder, and tons of rain.  I heard a knock and there he was.  He stayed with me until 5:00 and we talked dirt bikes, San Diego, plumbing, and his girlfriend (Squirt).  We both took a nap, ate some left over pizza and had a good time. I was sorry to see him go.

For dinner I joined Mav and Gaucho at Peats cook-your-own steakhouse and bar.  I ordered the 13 oz ribeye and cooked it on the grill.  It came with a salad and baked potato.  Kind of like Sports Valley in Arizona. I cooked it perfect and it was delicious.  The other two had pizza and beer.  I had a good time here.  The bartender Blain was friendly and the atmosphere was great. 😁
