Day 110 Lima

Gaucho and I finished the road walk from Beaver Creek to the I15 intersection by Modoc road where the shuttle picked us up at 9:15 and took us to Lima.

Sunrise near Beaver Creek and Modoc Road

I stayed at the Mountain View Motel where they gave me a shitty little room with a sink that drained all over the floor, a gross stained bathtub, no front ventilation so it was hot, no ac, a shitty fan, and a shitty tv that barely worked.  But it had a bed and the toilet and shower worked.  So whatever. I am grateful to just have a roof and a place to rest for a bit. Gaucho stayed at the nearby Lima Park where they generously allow hikers to camp. In hindsight it was probably the better choice. It had an awesome pavillion and was very quiet and peaceful.

I ate breakfast at Jan’s Cafe with Gaucho and Mav who was staying in town waiting for a tent part. Breakfast was awesome and everyone is so nice here that we came back later for lunch. I ate dinner at Peat’s steakhouse where I ran into Clementine and Yukon, both friends from New Mexico.  I  ordered a pizza and sat with Yukon, Sahib, Legs, and Pied Piper.  I eventually took the pizza back to my room because the salad filled me up.
