Day 92 Back to Anaconda

I Ubered from the Quality Inn in Missoula back to the bus station, then took the bus from Missoula to Butte.  I called Ted Weinman (the guy who gave me the ride from Anaconda to Lincoln) and he happened to be in Butte running errands.  What luck! He picked me up and we drove back to Anaconda where he delivered me to the Marcus Daly hotel.  What a nice guy!

We saw this on the way from Butte to Anaconda. That’s a toy mining truck 🙂

Ted is also on the Anaconda City Council or something and gave me a quick tour of the town and showed me just how far Tillies was (it has great reviews in Guthooks), which made me decide to not eat there for dinner. Anaconda is a very spread out town.

I had to walk down to the East end of town about a mile to connect my footsteps to the Trade Winds hotel where I was 3 weeks ago.  On the way back I bought groceries and acid reducer to try to fix the pit of fire that has ignited in my stomach. About halfway back I saw another hiker coming the other way. It was none other than Gaucho whom I first met near the Wall in the Bob Marshall wilderness. We visited for a bit before going on our separate ways. I hope to see him again – he is a pleasant sort of fellow. I stopped for dinner at Donivans which was awesome.

Once back at the hotel I sprayed more of my clothes with Permethrin. I also asked Fey, the nice lady who runs this hotel to mail some unused things back home for me since the post office is already closed today and tomorrow. What a nice and friendly lady! I highly recommend the Marcus Daly hotel if you are ever staying in Anaconda.
