I said goodbye to the other hikers at the Gooseberry patrol canyon and followed the Flathead river for a mile until it rejoined the official CDT at Strawberry Creek. The trail ascends Strawberry Creek all the way to its headwaters at Badger pass which I went over. I then descended to the Muskrat Creek drainage. Then up and over another pass to North Badger Creek where I camped for the night.
I did another 24 miles today. It was mostly along river valleys with a mix of burned areas and dense forest. It was all very beautiful and I saw many thru hikers headed south whom I enjoyed visiting with.
